Easter Impromptu😂
Daddy’s impromptu Easter message…
Daddy’s impromptu Easter message…
It’s not even your birthday yet but we celebrated early because all our family was going to be in town. Needless to say, your birthday party was a HUGE success!! And SOOO MUCH FUN!!
I wish I could take credit but your mom pretty much did everything! We had your party at Hillview Stables and you had an amazing day (and so did everyone else). We had Sonny’s BBQ, fruit trays, cheese and crackers, animal crackers, cupcakes, and birthday cake in the horse stables which were beautiful. There was also a kangaroo in the horse stable with us. Ben conveniently blew your candles out after we sang happy birthday but that’s ok. We relit them for u…twice actually.
You had an amazing time and the smiles on your face were proof. You fed the goats, petted a baby pig, rode a pony, fed a camel, and saw animals that I can’t even remember what they’re called. It was an amazing day. You’ll be 2 in a few days…time slow down!
Audrey, your mommy is an unbelievably amazing woman! She’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside…and I might add that daddy knows she’s smokin hot! (Is it ok that I call your mommy hot?) She has the biggest heart and cares for people so much! She’s always been the kind of person to put others first. Always trying to build people up. I’m a lucky man to have your mommy for the rest of my life.
And you, Audrey, are the icing on the cake! I’m so thankful to be your daddy. You are smart, beautiful, funny, bubbly, silly, fearless, clever, brave, adventurous, and most of all you’re daddy’s little girl! You are truly amazing and you have been since the day you were born and you will be forevermore!! I already know you’re going to do great things. I don’t know how I could be any prouder of you than I already am but I’m sure you’ll prove me wrong. Each day seems to just get better and better.
I’m so thankful for my family! I’m so thankful for God’s blessings. Our life may not be perfect, but it’s perfect to me! God is Good!
James 1:17 ESV
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
2 Corinthians 9:15 ESV
“Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!”
Psalm 100:1-5 ESV
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
Isaiah 12:4-5 ESV
“And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.”
“Watch this…” Those words normally precede you doing something crazy! I don’t know where you even picked up the phrase, but you have started using it more and more. Tonight, you said “Watch this…”, and you jumped up as high as you could and landed on your knees! It looked like it hurt, but I couldn’t help but laugh! My laughter triggered you to do it over and over again causing daddy to laugh even more. “Watch this…Watch this…Watch this!!!” The more you did it the more we laughed and the more we thought you were going to hurt yourself. You’re too much fun girl!!
Side note…you don’t like the face swap app. Everybody else’s kiddos are loving it but you don’t like it at all. You were loving the bunny ears and then you accidentally switched it to one that scared you. You cried for like 5 minutes!! And ever since you want nothin to do with it. “No, no, no!!”
Ready, Seddy, Go!!!
I don’t know where you got it from, but you keep saying seddy go instead of set go! You’ve said set a hundred times but all of a sudden you decided to change it.
We got you this indoor slide to help battle the cold weather and it has been the best purchase ever! You have played and played with it. Your learning to take turns too!! You want mommy and daddy to play with you so you’ll tell mommy turn. Then it’ll be Audrey’s turn and then daddy turn! You want to help push us too. It’s kind of a funny sight to see mommy and daddy go down your little slide. Especially since our bottoms won’t even fit on it. But either way, when Audrey says Ready, Seddy…daddy’s ready to go!
First of all, daddy made the mistake of buying you something out of the little quarter vending machines and now every time you see one you want something! That’s what started your understanding of money. Now you see the vending machine and turn to daddy and say, “I want money.” So we’ve dropped several quarters on bouncy balls, gum balls (which we tell you are bouncy balls), beautiful necklaces, and even some stretchy sticky miniature handcuff thingamajigs.
The other night, we were trying to brush your teeth and you noticed that daddy had put some of his change on the bathroom counter. You wanted to hold the money and started saying toy, toy! Daddy told you that you had to go to sleep first and then you might get a toy tomorrow. You immediately put the money down and said “Bye bye money!”
The single most important lesson I want my little girl to know wrapped up in the words of a simple, yet powerful song!
This is the face of an angel. An angel that drives a Peterbilt! Your mommy wanted to let you climb in a truck today so we took you into the garage. You weren’t for sure about it until daddy asked you if you wanted to drive. You were grinning ear to ear. You’re not even 2 years old yet but you already love to drive. Yesterday, you wanted to drive when I got home from work so I let you sit in my lap and steer around the neighborhood. You’re actually getting really good. I guess the little Minnie Mouse four wheeler is paying off. When you first started riding it, you would hit the gas and wherever it was pointed was where it went. Straight into the wall, the table, the chair, you only went straight. Finally you realized that if you turn the steering wheel, you can ride a lot farther before daddy has to help you.
I’m glad we started driving early though because I gotta teach you to drive better than mommy. Mommy’s the worst drive…well, maybe she’s the 2nd worst. Your aunt Kayla probably takes the cake. Bad driving is a gene from mommy’s side of the family. Mommy’s bad, Kayla’s worse, pawpaws so careful that he’s dangerous, and to be honest I’m just too scared to get in the car with Grammy so she’s never drove with me before. Who knows the Ramsey’s might be good drivers too, I’ll probably never know. You papaw literally drives so slow that I’ve been afraid of getting run over. But then again, your papaw Jess is pretty dangerous too. He keeps one foot on the brake and one foot on the gas…and every now and then he pushes them both at the same time.
Just stick with daddy’s driving lessons. I may have gotten some awards for how fast I can drive, but i know I’ll worry less if you drive like daddy.
“My baby’s got this funky rash and I googled it and I think she might have -“insert crazy medical term here”-”
“Girl, you usin’ that Johnson and Johnson?!? Oh no you didn’t!”
“No, I’m not gonna tell daddy, but girl she had to eat 15 Popsicles while he was at work today. I know, right, I had to. She was bouncin’ off the walls today!”
“And she had the nerve to tell me that she only got 5 hours of sleep last night…do what?!? I was like, girl I haven’t had 5 hours all week!”
“You won’t believe this…Shelia told me she just went and turned the baby monitor off!?! Uh-uh, oh no!”
For real though, stay at home moms be like…the most amazing women ever! In my opinion, a stay at home mom is like a mix between a navy seal, a ninja, MacGyver, Betty Crocker, Wonder Woman, and maybe even a little Benny Hinn. A navy seal because you are tougher than nails and seem to be prepared for anything. A ninja because you can magically rock a baby to sleep, get up and walk to the crib, and lay her down without her ever even knowing you were in the room. MacGyver because your diaper bag is filled to the brim with any and every possible contraption needed to resolve any possible situation. Betty Crocker because you can whip up a healthy meal with any ingredient you can find. Wonder Woman because you can function on little to no sleep but still have the energy to be the best mommy a child could ever wish for. And maybe, just maybe, a hint of Benny Hinn because you can magically heal almost any boo-boo with the kiss of your lips. (Thank the Lord, it’s your kiss and not your forehead punch or we’d have to call social services!😜) If you don’t know Benny Hinn watch this. All puns aside, you are truly, absolutely amazing!
I think most people don’t realize how much you do everyday. For those of us that have an 8 to 5, we got it made because you are on call 24 hours a day. Your normal day starts around 6, maybe 7 (if she sleeps) and ends when you get her back to sleep at the end of the day (that is if she sleeps, of course). You’re a chef, a teacher, a comforter, an entertainer, a chauffeur, a planner, a nurse, a counselor, the list goes on and on but most importantly you are a mother. You are an amazing woman with amazing talents! Most people hope to have at least one gift or talent, you however are gifted in so many ways!
You are blessed to have one of the best stay at home moms! Everything mentioned above describes your mommy plus more. She’s the one that calms you when you’re crying. She’s the one that you call out for at night. She’s the one who cooks your every meal. She’s the one that takes you to the park. She’s the one that teaches you something new everyday. When daddy wakes you up in the morning, the first thing you say is, “where’s mommy?” Even though daddy tries so hard, sometimes he just can’t compete with what you and your mommy have. The bond of a mother and daughter is something amazing to see. Your mommy loves you more than anything in the world. And it doesn’t take long to see that you love mommy like that too. We’re so lucky to have such an amazing stay at home mom. God is Good!
Love, Daddy
